In the Park

Charlie "Bird" Parker - Image by Herman Leonard, NYC 1949

Didn’t know what time it was

Bird riffs

and birds lift

to leafless trees.

Tourists clutching cameras

try to hold the city captive

for a day.

Blackbirds beg for a leftover baguette

while lovers nibble on fruits and cheese

excited about that patch of grass

only they could find.

Looking forward to other poems written by you. DIG DEEP!
How about working with the theme… I just want my own dreams back.
